Chris Wallace Auditioned Again Last Night for Brit Hume Show Amid Continued Speculation that He Will Be Replacing Hume
            Amid speculation that Donald Rumsfeld was ordered by the President to appear before a Senate panel yesterday to answer harsh, critical questions by Democratic Senators, many observers were hoping that the absence yesterday of Brit Hume indicated that the President is talking with him about responding to this type of criticism so that the Secretary of Defense does not have to do so.
            According to Fox News: “Rumsfeld did not say why he changed his mind, but the Pentagon denied that he was ordered by the president to show up.”
            There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Wallace is auditioning for Hume’s post at some point in the future. Many conservatives are hoping that it will be soon so that the popular, veteran newsman can start working for the President.
