Healthcare Law Has Official
Position for Planned Parenthood
In
the new Massachusetts Healthcare law, Planned Parenthood is given
a leadership role.
It
will designate a representative to sit on an advisory board, which
is given the duty to “promote high-quality, safe, effective,
timely, efficient, culturally competent and patient-centered care.”
Since
their new role is overseeing healthcare for the poorest in the state,
some believe that, under the new Healthcare law, the state will be
actively seeking to discourage the “breeding” of those
on the lower socio-economic scale. This is a role consistent with
the beliefs of the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger,
who believed deeply in eugenics and wanted to sterilize the poor-
particularly poor blacks.
