Brit Hume Became So Discouraged Last Night that He Has Given Up
Brit Hume
became so discouraged last night having to deal every day with the
nonsense from Nina Easton that he has appeared to give up. What else
can he do when he is forced by Fox News to put up with her foolishness
not only on Sundays but on his own daily show? He is supposed to be
Managing Editor on the daily program.
Fox Will Begin Publishing Its London Times
in New York to Attract “Wealthy” Readers
The owner
of Fox, which is the publicly-traded “News Corp,” tells
The Wall Street Journal that it will begin publishing its London Times
in New York City on June 12 in a bid to add more “wealthy”
New Yorkers to its bottom-line. Money is the only thing that interests
Fox. It wants to increase its annual profits of $25 billion. It will
be competing in New York for the same readers as the Wall Street Journal
and the New York Times.
Concerned Women Seek Federal Marriage Amendment
Concerned
Women for America is seeking the immediate passage of a Federal Marriage
Amendment because: “Rogue judges and legislators are creating
counterfeits.” CWA seeks an amendment which will not allow counterfeit
marriage of civil unions.
The wording
is: “Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the
union of a man and a woman. Neither the United States nor any State
shall recognize or grant to any unmarried person the legal rights
or status of a spouse.” Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tennessee)
has promised a vote on a marriage amendment on June 5. But that proposal
is for a soft amendment which would not ban civil unions.

American Family Association Disagrees with
CWA
The AFA is
favoring a soft federal marriage amendment which will just protect
the word “marriage.”
Its founder
and Chairman, Don Wildmon, says: “I only wish we could get Congress
and conservatives (even Christian conservatives) to implement Mike’s
proposal. While it breaks my heart to say so, "It ain’t
going to happen." So I must be satisfied at the present time
to take most of the pie if we can get it. Perhaps those who come after
us will take up the cause and eventually succeed where we have failed.
Pray to God that they will.”
The pressure
for a soft Amendment is apparently coming from the hierarchy of the
Catholic Church inasmuch as a news story from AFA says that “all
eight U.S. Catholic Cardinals” are prominent in the group that
is pushing for a soft Amendment.
We in Massachusetts
know by heart the words that Justice Sosman of the Mass. SJC wrote
when she voted against Justice Margaret Marshall’s illegal imposition
of gay marriage upon the state. Justice Sosman spoke of civil unions
as counterfeit marriage and put the following words in her opinion:
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
We Didn’t
Encourage Germans and Japanese to Move Here after WWII
An article
in WorldNet Daily points out that we didn’t encourage the Germans
and Japanese to move here after WWII. We helped them where they were,
in their own homelands. “If Mexico and Central America could
become Latin versions of the success stories of the destroyed countries
of WWII, economic migration would end of its own accord,” writes
Ronald F. Maxwell.
Readers Wonder How to Defeat Majority Leader
John Rogers
Many readers
are wondering how to defeat Majority Leader John Rogers this fall
after his repudiation last week of traditional marriage. Some are
even determining whether it is too late to run someone else in the
Primary this fall.
Democratic Senator Harry Reid Denied He Did
Anything Wrong In Taking Free Tickets to Boxing
Although Brit Hume tried
to get his panel to discuss the damage to Democrats by the news that
their leader in the Senate gets into to the fights in Las Vegas without
paying, his newest panelist, Nina Easton, explained that there was
nothing at all wrong, even in appearance, in what he did. She was
gleefully reporting throughout the show that her “colleagues”
at Fortune magazine were filling her in on the important news to which
they were privy. If they were busy reporting news, everyone knows
they didn’t have time to talk with their newest token minority.
Although Brit would disagree with Maura Liasson much of the time,
at least she made intelligent discussions.
It was interesting that
Fred Barnes knew what we had written yesterday morning about the Associated
Press and others have written for years about the connections of Reid
to the lobbyist Harry Abramoff, but even Barnes got discouraged with
both Nina and Mort Kondracke loudly proclaiming the Democratic line.
Senator Schumer Made Headline News Again
The private Senator of the
New York Times, Chuck Schumer made headline news again yesterday with
his endorsement of the new appointment of Henry Paulson of Goldman
Sachs as Secretary of the Treasury. It led some to wonder how many
of Pinch’s billions are invested with Goldman.
