Brit Hume Was Forced to Endure Nina Easton Again Last Night
Although Brit Hume is listed as “Managing Editor” of the Fox News bureau in Washington, the unknown “powerful people” in New York forced him again last night to endure the Boston Globe columnist, Nina Easton, on his panel. Other panelists were Charles Krauthammer and Mort Kondracke.
To observers here in Boston, very few are able to understand what qualifications make this employee of Pinch Sulzberger competent for such duty. She is the one who compared Dick Cheney’s hunting mishap last month to Ted Kennedy’s Chappaquiddick scandal.
On the two questions before the panel last night, Easton became so enamored with her own thoughts that she started to filibuster and had to be stopped in mid-sentence by a patient Hume, who is experienced at having “experts” thrust upon him by Fox. Although Senator Schumer was not on television last night to lambaste the President, Nina Easton took his place on Hume’s show as she gave her opinions on how badly the President had mishandled the CIA and Sen. Feingold as well as the problem of illegal immigrants. She appeared ready for a long soliloquy if Hume had not mercifully stopped her.
While the President was being castigated by many last night, his new Press Secretary, Tony Snow, was not to be seen. Again, the question of protecting the President had to be undertaken by Brit Hume.
If you want to go the extra mile and really make your voice heard, don’t just send angry emails to Fox. Also, buy a small amount of stock in the News Corporation, which would entitle you to register your thoughts with their investor relations contact at 212-852-7092. Keep in mind, you don't have to own stock to contact investor relations. They are equally interested in those who may invest in the future, as well as current stock holders.
