Tony Snow Cries During First Formal Briefing
Tony Snow was crying for some time during his first formal briefing at the White House yesterday.          Nevertheless, the panel of “Fox All Stars” on the Brit Hume show last night gave him high marks for his performance at the briefing. They are all his friends and naturally wanted him to do well, but more important, the unknown powers at the Fox network covet Snow as Press Secretary to President Bush because it gives them a 24-hour access to the Oval Office.
Even the panelists agreed that the press corps was unusually polite to Snow yesterday and that would not continue. The liberal reporters will become much more aggressive in the days and weeks to come.         The only reporter who questioned Snow aggressively was the aged Helen Thomas, with whom Tony was very patient and kind as is his nature. But everyone agreed that things will not be that easy when the New York Times, the Washington Post and the rest of the media who dislike Pres. Bush get out their knives.
