Startling Facts Demonstrate that U.S. Is In Crisis
--- Because of Tony Snow and Fox News
Fox
News has been cited as the only conservative news network on the air.
However, that is no longer true. It is no longer “conservative” by
anyone’s measure.
Fox
News is only a tiny part (and probably the least profitable) of Rupert
Murdoch’s former empire, “News Corporation,” which is now a $55 billion
corporation with annual revenues of $24 billion and many, many shareholders,
seeking the highest return on their investments.
This expansion and needed capitalization has made the former
owner, Rupert Murdock, a veritable servant to his shareholders and
to the bickerings of the three families
he has sired.
There’s clear evidence that they at News Corporation no longer appreciate
the fact that Hume put Fox News on the map, and they are setting him
up to force him out. He is put in constant competition with the New
York office which obviously is receiving more
talent and money than the Washington
bureau.
Guests
and panelists on the Washington
shows are dictated from some unknown person at Fox. The guests on
“Fox News Sunday” yesterday were the liberal Sen
Spector and Democrat Joe Biden, who agreed that Pres. Bush
is a disgrace, while host Chris Wallace tried his best to keep the
show from becoming a “bash Bush” event. The panel saw Brit Hume facing
two from the state-owned National Public Radio, Maura Liasson and
Juan Williams (whose idea of a discussion is to yell as loud as he
can and who had Hume shaking his head in disbelief throughout most
of the discussion) and neo-conservative Bill Kristol, who is an (unknown)
partner of Fox in the “Weekly Standard” newspaper, who has his father’s
money as leverage and shows his disdain for Hume.
When Tony
Snow arrives today at the White House he will be eaten alive by Pinch
Sulzberger at the New York Times and Donald Graham at the Washington
Post.
We in Massachusetts
have watched Sulzberger for years as he has dominated this state with the Times and its subsidiary in New England,
the Boston Globe. Our experience
with the Graham family is new but they are obviously clones of the
Sulzbergers.
