Immigrants Set to Boycott Today
More
than a dozen cities in the commonwealth are participating in “Day
without an Immigrant” activities, an event billed across the
nation as a show of solidarity for illegal aliens. Marches, walk-outs
and speeches are expected to take place in Cambridge, Framingham,
Chelsea and Amherst, among other towns.
It
is the intention of the organizers to literally shut down cities across
the country in an effort to demonstrate the vital role that immigrants
play in society.
Ali
Noorani, executive director of the MIRA coalition, a Massachusetts
immigrant’s rights group, said of the event: "The broader
point we’re conveying is that the immigrant community is important.
What would be the impact if there were no immigrants? The state would
not have enough workers. The state is already lacking in workers."
Noorani
denies that his group is coordinating strikes or boycotts locally,
but it expects some immigrants will not show up for work and might
not buy anything on Monday.
Noorani
was the organizer behind the rally at the State House last month that
we reported, where illegal aliens proclaimed that they had “taken
over” the building.
Joe
Rizoli, director of the Framingham-based "Concerned Citizens
and Friends of Illegal Immigration Law Enforcement", said individuals
may want to use this day to see what businesses support illegal immigration.
If a business shuts down today, they are either dependent on illegal
aliens, or against the enforcement of our immigration laws.
"What’s
good about is that we’re going to find out what businesses support
illegal immigrants," Rizoli said. "I’d boycott those
businesses for the rest of my life."
Day Set to Coincide with Marxist
and Anti-American Rallies
In
Mexico, hundreds of thousands are expected to show their support of
their nationals living illegally in the U.S. by having a ''Nothing
Gringo" campaign. The “Nothing Gringo” campaign will
boycott all goods and services that come from the United States.
Similarly,
Socialists and Communists will jointly celebrate the day as part of
their normal “May Day” activities, which extols the virtues
of totalitarian Communism and the Bolshevik Revolution. The day has
been euphemistically renamed “International Workers Day”
by Communists.
