Rally
Today to “Defend Our Borders”
Two days after an immigrant
group “took over the State House” (Click Here)
a Rep. on Beacon Hill is sponsoring a town hall meeting in the Gardner
Auditorium at the State House to show support of an immigration policy
that will first protect our own borders.
Rep. Marie Parente (D-Milford)
is sponsoring the meeting that will be broadcast live on the Michael
Graham show, from 3-5 p.m. on 96.9 FM. The objective is to show state
lawmakers that citizens of the state are not in favor of any policy
that simply ignores the huge influx of illegal immigrants to this
state, or encourages illegal immigration by granting a blanket amnesty.
Both legal and illegal immigrants
flooded the Gardner Auditorium Tuesday with a list of legislative
actions they wanted enacted, including restored MassHealth benefits
for immigrants, and discounted in-state tuition rates at the state
colleges for illegal aliens. Several Democratic candidates running
in the gubernatorial primary were quick to promise “a clear
path to citizenship” and even spoke of their plan to abolish
the phrase “illegal immigrant” as a reference to non-citizens
who have come here illegally.
Organizers of the rally
today are encourage people to wear red, white and blue, and have cautioned
individuals to not carry any banners or signs to the State House.
