Amid
Calls for Universal Health Care from Politicians, A Group of Doctors
Calls for Ban on Drug Company Gifts to Doctors; In Massachusetts Romney
and Democrats Are Arguing over Who Has Best Plan
As even Pres. Bush has been forced
to call for Universal Health Care for all, a group of prominent doctors
has strongly recommended that drug companies be banned from making gifts
to doctors, a universal practice today.
"Docs say they
can't be bought but each time you get a gift, ultimately it does affect
what you prescribe," said the leader of the group who is at Columbia
University. It is a universal practice that drug companies start with
medical students and pay their way to resorts for training in many areas
of medicine.
Hillary Clinton was
excited about establishing universal health care in the first two years
of her husband's Presidency until she suffered such a humiliating defeat
that she totally fled the scene and gave her attention for several years
to buying antiques for the White House until she was rehabilitated.
Her plan would have, in many instances, forced citizens under federal
law to go to the doctor who was selected for them.
Scholars tell MassNews
that citizens have a Constitutional right to make their own decisions
about their health without being told by the government what is best
for them.
