When Did Archie
Bunker Get the Right to Pick Supreme Court Justices?
By MassNews Staff
Many people are wondering when
Archie Bunker’s “right-hand-man” got the right to choose our Supreme Court
Judges.
Everyone hears on the media
that the President of “People for the American Way,“ Ralph Neas, does
not like Judge John Roberts, who has been nominated by President Bush.
But who is Ralph Neas? Who are
“People for the American Way” (also known as PAW)? And why does anyone
care what its president believes?
PAW was created by the man who
invented Archie Bunker and made hundreds of millions as a result. You
may remember him, Norman Lear.
Norman, and his new mouthpiece,
Ralph Neas, have every right to tell us who they personally would like
to have as our next Judge, but can they dictate
to us just because Norman is rich?
All the news shows including
Fox News, even Brit Hume, inform us breathlessly whether PAW approves
of Judge John Roberts. Who cares what the Archie Bunker family wants?
Do you want them choosing your next Supreme Court Judge?
What Does Bernard Goldberg Think of PAW?
Who ever hears of the old and
tired Norman Lear anymore?
Most people now know much more
about Bernard Goldberg, the former CBS News reporter for nearly 30 years,
who has now written three best-selling books about the news media since
2002, including his newest book, “100 People Who Are Screwing Up America,”
which is already a best-seller in 2005.
As for Ralph Neas, Bernie Goldberg
picked him as the 10th most dangerous person in America in
Bernie’s newest book.
Where else have we heard of
PAW? It was the organization, which created the myth of Matthew Shepard
back in 1998 in cooperation with the New York Times and the Boston Globe.
That story was finally broken
by ABC News last year. It reported in December 2004 that the Matthew Shepard legend was
really a bungled robbery and had nothing to do with homosexuality. The
ABC reporters appeared to be taking their story from the MassNews website
which was written at the time of the event. It has been widely read recently
because of the new book, “Libel by New York Times” by Atty. J. Edward
Pawlick.
However,
ABC did not have the courage to report that Sulzberger was responsible
for the deception. The “Legend of Matthew Shepard” was first created by
Pinch Sulzberger in 1998, the year after he became Chairman of the entire
New York Times conglomerate and took full control. The
killing occurred on Oct. 6 but was not immediately reported by the Globe
nor the Times. Meanwhile, on Oct. 8, PAW published a ten-page attack against
the major Christian organizations and their “Truth in Love” campaign about
many homosexuals who had been successful in changing their lifestyle.
The
campaign by the Christian groups was characterized as “hate” by PAW. As
a result, on Oct. 10, both the Globe and Times suddenly began to report
this obscure tragedy from Wyoming. The
papers repeated the spin that the robbery/murder was caused by the Christian
ad. It was said to have brought about a climate of hate. This was obviously
preposterous but the mainstream media repeats it over and over until this
day, led by the Chairman of the Times, Pinch Sulzberger. The lie about Matthew Shepard is now part of our folklore.
