Majority or Minority Rule?
By Gary Kelly, Fitchburg

80% of Americans oppose gay marriage. 80% of Americans want voluntary prayer in schools. 90% of Americans support displaying the Ten Commandments in public buildings. 95% of Americans want the Pledge of Allegiance recited in schools with "under God." 90% of Americans support the rights of Boy Scouts use of public buildings while not allowing openly homosexual Scoutmasters. 80% of Americans believe government spends too much. - Citizen Leader Coalition

While it is clear what the majority favors, judges like the four in the
Massachusetts Supreme Court, have coerced minority rule upon its citizens. And the attitude of Chief Justice Marshall is blatantly obvious for those who have ears to hear. In her May 2005 commencement speech at Brandeis University, she stated the following:

"Our courts function as a pressure valve to defuse political and social tension."
(Is this what the framers had in mind, or is this the new liberal/secular view of the judiciary?)

"As a nation, we have tacitly agreed that it is better to settle our large differences in the courtroom than in the street."
(Did she really mean the "street," or the voting booth?)

"I worry when people of influence use vague, loaded terms like 'judicial activist' to skew public debate or to intimidate judges."
(But not worry when people misuse words like "morality," "values," "tolerance," and "diversity" and then exclude "those with deeply held beliefs" from becoming judges?)

"I worry when judicial independence is seen as a problem to be solved and not a value to be cherished."
(And a look at the court decisions on prayer, sodomy, abortion, marriage, etc. violating the cherished "Laws of Nature and of Natures God" is NOT a problem?)

"Individual rights and human dignity are vulnerable when they depend for protection on the will of the majority or the good faith of those in power."
(So a Republic is to be usurped for the rule of a few?)

Are liberals in favor of redefining marriage to undermine and weaken the traditional family, because traditional family members tend to vote conservative on moral issues? Is this why judges, like Massachusetts Chief Justice Marshall, prevent a government by the people, by creating law, instead of ruling on the law?

Will Government run "public" schools continue to thwart parents by teaching sex education - not abstinence - distribute condoms, provide abortion counseling, teach homosexuality is normal, and prevent parental choice with vouchers? Will Government run "public" schools continue to indoctrinate - not educate - children as global citizens and thwart American history by reflecting only a secular foundation? All without a popular vote, most without parental knowledge or consent.

Do Democrats believe liberty comes from God or Government? Listen carefully as Democrats try to persuade voters they have values and morals in their attempt to regain control of the White House and Congress. Liberals refer to morals and values when discussing taxes, economy, Social Security, but not abortion or same-sex unions.

Where is the liberal "morality" and "values" as children of faith-based parents are subjected and indoctrinated into being taught that that which is not natural is "normal?" Are Judeo-Christian parents bigots when they take a stand against teaching our children that homosexuality is "normal," when the Scriptures those parents believe in tell us it is an abomination to God and "goes against nature?" Are "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God," the basis for "unalienable Rights" being "entitled?"

Will liberals continue to attempt to compromise the ballot box and voting privileges, and use judges willing to be part of a despotic branch in their effort to transform America from One Nation Under God, into a "progressive" One More Nation Under the United Nations? Do liberals want to change a government of the people, by the people, for the people, to a government of an unelected Security Council, by the Security Council, for the Security Council?

"One single object...[will merit] the endless gratitude of the society: that of restraining the judges from usurping legislation." Thomas Jefferson

"The truth is, that, even with the most secure tenure of office, during good behavior, the danger is not, that the judges will be too firm in resisting public opinion, and in defence of private rights or public liberties; but, that they will be ready to yield themselves to the passions, and politics, and prejudices of the day." Joseph Story

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln

"Therefore, the law is ignored and justice is never upheld. For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore, justice comes out perverted. " Habakkuk 1:4 (NASB)

The Liberal Agenda: Since they cannot win at the polls, they will coerce in the courts, as in Mass-embarrassed-chusetts, where marriage is made in court, not heaven, and parents are arrested for taking a stand in "morality and values" being taught in school.

"It has long, however, been my opinion, and I have never shrunk from its expression...that the germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the constitution of the federal Judiciary;...working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped." Thomas Jefferson
