Gay Hate Crimes Data to Show Increase

      Fenway Community Health’s Violence Recovery Program will release statistics on local anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender hate crimes for 2004 on Tuesday. The local numbers are being released in conjunction with national statistics compiled by the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs.
      Both local and national statistics are expected to show increases in anti-LGBT violence that program officials say corresponds with last year’s debate over same-sex marriage. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Sen. Dianne Wilkerson join the program officials at a press conference to release the data on Tuesday, 10:30 am, at Fenway Community Health, 7 Haviland St., Boston.
