Don’t Interfere With Democrats While They Are Destroying Themselves
By Edward Shallow
The nation requires a strong national defense and Democrats can’t be trusted to provide the security America requires. Their weakness on this issue was a major factor in their 3.5 million-vote loss in the November election. They were solidly rebuffed when the eleven states with marriage amendments were all approved with pluralities of from 57% to 88%, the message couldn’t be clearer, America will never embrace homosexual marriage.
It is interesting to note, Howard Dean, recently named Democratic National Chairman, before he was confirmed, was addressing a gathering in which he stated, “We are not the party of gay marriage”. I beg to differ Governor, with rare exception, the Republicans are the party firmly behind traditional marriage and are willing to speak out against the abomination of same sex marriage. The Democrats remain committed to the gay agenda.
Consider, Massachusetts representative, Diane Wilkerson a supporter of gay marriage was a strong contender for an advisory position with the DNC. She was denied the appointment, not because of her support of the gay agenda, but because of the excess baggage she carried: accumulating $1,300 in unpaid parking tickets; being fined $1,000 by the Ethics Commission for not reporting $20,000 she received from a bank she lobbied for; guilty in 1997 for failing to pay $51,000 in federal taxes.
Attorney General Tom Reilly (D) long an opponent of gay marriage now embraces the sin, stating, “Everything changed on May 17th when gay marriage became law in Massachusetts”, “Once rights are given, they should not be taken away.” It matters not to the states chief law officer that the ruling by the SJC, under Margaret Marshall was prearranged in conjunction with the New York Times.
I firmly believe Marshall’s ruling should have been contested by the Attorney General and Governor Romney should have issued an executive order declaring gay marriage be put on hold until the voice of the people was heard on the issue. Governor Dean, please note, Reilly’s position is further evidence Dems support gay marriage. The election set the future course of the U.S. Supreme Court for the next twenty years or more.
Marriage, morality and the sanctity of human life were the real winners and their dedication to moral values cannot be denied them. Given the fact the Dems have denied many of President Bush’s judicial nominees their constitutional right to an up-or down vote, and judicial activists have been responsible for legalization abortion, sodomy and same sex marriage (in Mass).
It is advised Senate Leader Bill Frist urge the Senate to remove the requirement of a 60-vote supermajority to end senate debate. The change is necessary so that the minority is not empowered to veto the will of the majority. In the November election President Bush made gains among women, blacks, Latino and Catholic voters.
In summation, Democrats offer no alternative to proposed legislation; they maintain their strident opposition to all things Bush. They are weak on defense. On gay marriage and traditional values they are out of touch with mainstream America. The culture in America is moving to the right politically and if Democrats continue on the same path they have adopted, I think their party will be history. They will have destroyed themselves.
