Sulzberger Family’s Powerful Propaganda Tool, the Boston Globe, Is Used to Convince Many Citizens that Everyone in this State Favors Homosexual Marriage and that a Groundswell is Growing in Favor of It
By MassNews Staff
The Sulzberger family, owners of The New York Times Company, used its powerful subsidiary, the Sunday Boston Globe this week to convince many citizens that everyone here favors homosexual marriage except for Gov. Romney, who has turned against the state only to benefit himself.
Beginning with the headline, “Romney walking political tightrope,” the Sulzbergers had their subsidiary rail many times that Romney is against “same-sex marriage” and “gay marriage.”
Most understand that the Governor’s position is favored by most Massachusetts citizens, but the Sulzberger paper said the Governor is taking this position only because he is looking for out-of-state voters to help him become the next President.
The Globe ended its article with a quote from one of its favorite people, this time the state’s Democratic Party chairman. That politician said the message going to the Governor from here is: “Choose between the Bay State and the red states.”
The Sulzbergers had the Globe sum up the story, as usual in the final quote which always comes from one of their friends (this is their standard procedure):
''’Romney has put himself between a rock and a hard place because he is trying to pursue two incompatible strategies: To run for reelection in a socially progressive state, and running a national campaign appealing to right-wing social conservatives,’ said state Democratic Party chairman Philip W. Johnston. ‘I think it's virtually impossible to do both. Only a political genius could do both, and I don't know anyone who's accused Mitt Romney of being that.’”
Although the usually fair reporter, Raphael Lewis, received a byline on the story, Scott S. Greenberger was named first and appeared to be in charge, not Lewis. The Sulzbergers did not trust Lewis to write the type of story they wanted.
