Everyone Wants Gay Marriage to "Go Away"
Everyone in Massachusetts wants gay marriage to "just go away." These are just a few of the people who want it to go away.

Margaret Marshall, but She Has to Learn to "Keep Her Mouth Shut"
When  the Boston Globe wrote this week that Judge Marshall has to learn to "keep her mouth shut," you know she's in trouble.  We've published several articles that she's at odds with the Sulzberger family ever since the 2004 election. (The Sulzbergers are owners of the Boston Globe, New York Times, etc.)
Margaret Marshall will always be a tragic figure if she remains on as Chief Justice. She's irreparably stained from her public appearance in 1999 before the lesbian attorney, Mary Bonauto, at the annual meeting of the Gay & Lesbian Bar Association. There, she assured Atty. Bonauto she would win her suit for gay marriage if it were filed in Massachusetts.
It's much better for Marshall to resign with dignity and say that the world is not yet ready for her compassion. All of her friends will cheer and praise her. She will undoubtedly be quickly snatched-up by Yale Law School or Wellesley College, for starters.

Call the main number of Marshall's Court.
Politely request that Judge Marshall resign, along with the three Associate Justices who signed her Ruling on gay marriage.
Receptionists will probably agree with you.

Three SJC Judges Who Signed Marshall's Ruling on Gay Marriage
Marshall's now toying with the financial security of the three Associate Justices who signed her illegal Order for gay marriage. There's no doubt they'll lose all their millions of dollars in pension benefits if they don't resign quickly. This is a very dangerous game for Marshall to allow them to play.
They've spent almost three-decades of their lives as judges and are dependent on their pensions. (Ireland has 28-years of service; Greaney, 27-years.)
They gave it their best shot to help Marshall, but, unlike her, they have families to support and it would be disastrous to lose any of their millions that have accumulated in pension benefits, which would happen if they are Removed by the Legislature.
Judge Marshall must not continue a selfish course. That is not the image she wants to leave behind.

Three SJC Judges Who Wrote that Marshall's Ruling Was Unconstitutional
Three Justices say Margaret Marshall doesn’t have the power to do what she is attempting. In essence, those three Justices say that Chief Justice Margaret Marshall and her three cohorts are acting ultra vires. Those three Justices have not commented on the Removal of their fellow judges because that is not their role. They have, however, emphatically written that Margaret Marshall is without power to do this. Now it is up to each individual Senator and Representative to decide the question of Removal.
The only way to stop the usurpation of power by Marshall is to remove her and her three friends and have the Republican Governor appoint four new judges who must be approved by the Democratic Governors Council. Those new judges will obey the Constitution and not write a new one.
These are the words of the three Justices: "The power to regulate marriage lies with the Legislature, not with the judiciary. Today, the court has transformed its role as protector of individual rights into the role of creator of rights."
"Whether the court is correct in its assumption is irrelevant. What is relevant is that such predicting is not the business of the courts."

"The Legislature is the appropriate branch, both constitutionally and practically, to consider and respond to it. It is not enough that we as Justices might be personally of the view that we have learned enough to decide what is best. So long as the question is at all debatable, it must be the Legislature that decides. The issue presented here is a profound one, deeply rooted in social policy, that must, for now, be the subject of legislative not judicial action."

Almost All the Legislators, Especially Speaker Sal DiMasi
About 80% of the Reps are waiting to jump on the winning side. We know that to be true because Arlene Isaacson put tremendous pressure on them a few months ago to publicly state their support for gay marriage. She was able, despite a tremendous effort, to get only 20%. This means that 80% are waiting to see 'which way the wind is blowing.
Reps Goguen and Phil Travis (D-Rehoboth, who just announced his retirement) are the only Legislators who are publicly stating their position. Regardless whether Goguen wins or loses the vote in the coming weeks, he deserves tremendous credit for his principled stand. Rep Goguen has had homosexual friends all his life and has never been mean to anyone. Observers say he doesn't have a mean streak anywhere in his body.
Adult homosexuals must be allowed to follow their desires because it is impossible for anyone to change people who have no desire to do so. But no one should be telling children this is a "normal" practice that they should try.
We're just beginning to see what some have in mind for our children with the announcement from TV 38 of its plan for a daily television program with the disgraced Judge Maria Lopez as the star.

       All Catholics
It will be a pleasure for Massachusetts Catholics to lighten the division between the Archdiocese of Boston and the Dioceses of Worcester, New Bedford and Springfield as to gay marriage. The outlying Dioceses are enthusiastic about the efforts of Rep. Emile Goguen to Remove Margaret Marshall and her three cohorts. He is greeted by enthusiastic crowds who shake his hand wherever he travels. The Archdiocese of Boston has not yet helped Goguen, which is a troubling puzzle to the popular Rep.
If Rep Goguen is successful in ending gay marriage this month, that would immediately end all concern by all the citizens of Massachusetts about gay marriage.

       TV 38
This television station may lose a little revenue if they cancel plans for a television show by Judge Maria Lopez, but they will gain by not alienating their base. Their huge, multinational owner, Viacom, won't even notice. It would be good if Viacom did notice because they don't need this adverse publicity. The unfortunate spokesperson for TV 38 who gigglingly told the Boston Herald she thought the show would be "entertaining," may be looking for a new job.

All Citizens Are Sick of It
The vast majority of citizens who want to end this tawdry bit of Massachusetts history will be happy to see the possible demise of the Sulzberger empire and to learn that we are no longer a colony of New York City.

       Everyone at MCM and MassNews
Our purpose has never been to punish Marshall or anyone else. Let's all move on and have something much more interesting in our lives.

One Person Who Won't Be Pleased
The only person(s) who won't be pleased is the one who has destroyed five Democratic leaders since 2002 when Senator Tom Birmingham plunged the dagger into his chest and destroyed his career. There has to be a lot of money involved. The best explanation we have heard is worldwide prostitution and a mob from somewhere in this country or outside. They are very resilient and we do not need to worry about their welfare. We must worry, however, about how many dollars it took to capture our state's entire political structure.

MCM Launches New Ads Focusing on Judges
The new radio and aerial banner campaign for Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage will ask listeners to call the courthouse, rather than the State House to insist upon Margaret Marshall's resignation. The text of the radio ads is below.

       We're Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage.
We believe adult homosexuals must be allowed to follow their desires because it's impossible for any of us to change someone who has no desire to change.
But no one should be telling children that homosexuality is a "normal" practice they should try.
That's why we're calling the supreme judicial court now and telling them that margaret marshall and the three judges who helped her impose gay marriage should resign from the court now.
marshall is jeopardizing the pensions of families,      especially judges ireland and greaney, who helped her.      this is a very dangerous game for marshall to encourage.   she must not take a selfish course.    this is not the legacy she wants to leave behind.
call the main number of the court.    politely ask that marshall resign along with the three justices who signed her ruling.
that will ensure all pensions.

three judges on margaret marshall's court say she hasn't the power.   their exact words are:
"What is at stake is the power of the Legislature to effectuate social change without interference from the courts.  The power to regulate marriage lies with the Legislature, not with the judiciary. Today, the court has transformed its role as protector of individual rights into the role of creator of rights."
"Whether the court is correct in its assumption is irrelevant. What is relevant is that such predicting is not the business of the courts."
