Celebration for Rep. Emile Goguen in the Skies of Worcester
County on Friday
Three airplanes will be flying across
Worcester County on Friday in a celebration for Rep. Emile Goguen,
who is receiving statewide praise everywhere he goes for his stand
against gay marriage.
"Emile and Rep.
Phil Travis (who has just announced his retirement) are the only Legislators
who are publicly stating their position," says Sally Pawlick,
President of Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage.
"Some 80% of
the Reps are waiting to jump on the winning side. We know that to
be true because Arlene Isaacson put tremendous pressure on them a
few months ago to publicly state their support for gay marriage. She
was able, despite a tremendous effort, to get only 20% to sign-on,
which means that 80% are waiting to see 'which way the wind is blowing.'
"Regardless
whether Goguen wins or loses the vote in the coming weeks, he deserves
tremendous credit for his principled stand."
Pawlick points out
that Rep. Goguen has always had homosexual friends all his life and
has never been mean to anyone

"He
doesn't have a mean streak anywhere in his body. Adult homosexuals
must be allowed to follow their desires because that is impossible
for us to change, but that is much different than telling children
that this is 'normal' or a practice they should try.
"We're just
beginning to see what is in store for our children as TV-38 announces
its planned program with the disgraced Judge Maria Lopez as the star."
Friday's Celebration
The celebration on Friday will
begin with the three planes each flying separately over the county
and then meeting in Fitchburg for a three-plane salute to Goguen.
