Debate between Rev. Rankin and Arline Isaacson at Smith College
A debate between Rev. John C. Rankin and Arline Isaacson, co-chair of the Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Political Alliance, "Is Same Sex Marriage Good for the Nation," will be held on Thursday evening, February 5, at Smith College, Northampton.
A previous debate was held last year at Boston University. "Arline has responded with genuine interest to continue the conversation," says Rev. Rankin, "I believe because I respect the image of God in her. The goal is not to win a debate (that is easy), but to win a relationship by speaking the truth in love."
Although the auditorium holds 2,000, it is expected to be packed for the event, which will be at the John M. Greene Hall, Elm Street. Rev. Rankin is President of the Theological Education Institute, Hartford.
