National Review Appears to Follow Along with Kristol The National Review appears to be following along with Kristol with an article by Jonah Goldberg, “The Problem with Keyes in Illinois,” an intellectual’s think piece, which has no place in the real world. But, unlike the Standard, Goldberg says he “likes” Keyes and agrees with him on the issues but wonders whether the process doesn’t show how bad things are in this country. Well, sure it does. So are we to sit around with Jonah and wring our hands? Or are we to change the country, along with Alan Keyes? One troubling thing is that we are told that Goldberg is an “NRO Editor at Large,” when in fact he is a syndicated columnist for the Chicago Tribune. Shouldn’t that deception trouble us more than Alan Keyes? |
