Article 8 Alliance in the news:
NEWS ITEM: Gay marriage ruling still in crosshairs [Boston Globe–Aug 27] Both the Boston Globe and Associated Press sent people to the demonstration yesterday. An interesting note: not a word in the article about Margaret Marshall’s violations of the Massachusetts Code of Judicial Conduct. We spent a lot of time telling the reporter how this is a basis for our actions. But the Globe (and all the other Boston Media) have refused to mention it in any article!
Yes, this should scare you:
NEWS ITEM: Gay political newcomer takes on anti-gay Mass. state rep. [InNews Weekly (Boston-based homosexual newspaper)–July 8] An inside look at how the homosexual movement is focused on making sure they get their way in the Massachusetts Legislature. If they’re successful, watch your rights and freedoms get swept away.
=== 1. West Bridgewater demonstration a great success! ===
This needs to be done to keep democracy alive! We were at an incredibly crowded stretch of road. A lot of reaction; we got lots of thumbs-up and honks. It was clear that people are still angry and outraged and glad someone’s doing something and out making a public statement. You could also see the rage of those who “like” same-sex marriage, and the sneers of those “moderate” types who can’t imagine anyone actually holding up a sign and having a public, non-politically-correct statement to make. All in all, it was fun and energizing. Even the cops were friendly and helpful. A lot of cars slowed down to take our flyers. People were finding out that this movement’s here and not going away. [We took lots of pictures – we’ll post them soon!]
=== 2. LET’S DO IT AGAIN – demonstration in Concord, Thursday Sept. 2! ===
Date: This Thursday, Sept. 2Time: 4:30 – 6:30 pm (come for all or part)Place: Rt. 2 Rotary in West Concord, across from the MCI-Concord prison.Directions: From Rt. 128, go west on Rt. 2 (about 8-9 miles) to the rotary. From Rt. 495, go east on Rt. 2 (about 6 miles) to the rotary. Parking: Prison visitor parking lot across from the Exxon station (where Rt. 2 comes into the rotary from the west). Parking lot entrance is on Commonwealth Ave. (the south branch off the rotary, along the west side of the prison).Signs: We will supply banners and signs, but bring your own legible sign if you want. [This place is REALLY crowded in rush hour!] Make a statement to the politicians in that area, and the people, that this issue is not going away by any means – that the politicians need to take notice, and the people have hope and can get involved! Our recent demonstrations in Hyde Park, Mattapan, Lexington, and West Bridgewater were VERY successful, made the local papers, and stirred a lot of interest. And . . . have some fun fighting back!
=== 3. Update on the Sept. 14 primary: pro-family reps vs national gay movement. ===
