Democratic Leaders Will Violate Constitution Again in 2004 --- in Order to Impose “Gay Marriage” It became clear last week that the leaders of the Mass. Democratic Party, led by Speaker Tom Finneran, are going to violate the state Constitution again this year in a desperate effort to impose “gay marriage” upon the state (and the nation) even though the vast majority of the citizens are solidly against it. It was obvious to everyone last Thursday that Finneran and his cadre were pressuring all Reps to refuse to sign a letter to him requesting that he call a vote on the Removal of Judge Marshall as required by the state Constitution. Many of the Reps had given their assurance to their constituents and to both Brian Camenker of the Article 8 Alliance and Sally Pawlick of Mass. Citizens for Marriage that they would sign the letter. But they rescinded those promises when a copy was given to them on Thursday for their signature. “For example,” says Pawlick, “I was still being told by aides of Brian Golden (D-Boston) that he was solidly behind the Removal of Marshall at the same time that he was writing an irate email to the entire House (instead of privately to Rep. Travis) demanding that his name be removed from the list of signers. This is particularly galling since my husband and I worked for the election of Golden a few years ago and attended his victory party, but he doesn’t even know the meaning of common courtesy. Not a whit of honesty. He had his people lying to us and his constituents. We were very new to Massachusetts politics when we worked for his first election and were told that he was a good conservative, who was very close to Speaker Finneran. He is close to Finneran, all right, but neither of them is conservative. This is all being driven by money and power.” Pawlick says that what is happening now is exactly like 2002 when the leaders of the Democratic Party violated the Constitution and refused to allow a vote. It is causing even more people to wonder why the Democratic Party leadership is violating the Constitution twice in a row to help the homosexuals. |
