Romney to be Honored by N.J. Republicans as “Responsible Republican Leadership”; He is Seeking National Office
Friday May 21, 2004

The following Press Release from the Republican Party in New Jersey indicates that the rumors about Romney are true. His primary goal is to use the Governorship, which he won after Sen. Birmingham committed suicide during the 2002 scandal over the Protection of Marriage Amendment, as a stepping stone to national office.

Romney’s recent plans to testify in Washington about how he has saved our state from homosexual marriage were shelved when Senators discovered the real truth. The N.J. Press Release is as follows:

“I am pleased to announce that Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will be our honored guest for the Annual Republican State Committee Gala to be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center at Raritan Center in Edison, New Jersey.

“Prior to becoming Governor of Massachusetts in 2003, Romney received international praise for saving the 2002 Winter Olympic Games from being mired by controversy and indebtedness. In stark contrast to Massachusetts Senator John Kerry’s record, Governor Romney has returned responsible fiscal leadership to the taxpayers of Massachusetts.

“We are working hard to do our part to help President Bush this fall. In fact, four statewide polls show that the presidential race is a statistical dead heat in New Jersey. That being said, we must prepare for the fight ahead of us next year too.

“Only with your help will we have a chance to return the type of responsible Republican leadership that Governor Romney has demonstrated in Massachusetts to New Jersey.”
