Homosexual “Marriage” Was Bipartisan
Monday May 17, 2004

Homosexual “marriage” has come primarily from the Democratic Party which formally endorsed it. Their members voted overwhelmingly in 2002 to violate the state’s Constitution in order to stop the people from voting. But there were prominent Republicans who joined. Their Senate leader, Brian Lees (R-Springfield), rose in 2002 to propose that they not vote on the Protection of Marriage Amendment which had gained 20,000 signatures more than necessary. Then in 2004, Lees led the strategy of tying the Constitutional Convention in knots so that the people were unfairly thwarted once again by politicians in smoke-filled rooms. He was joined by his Assistant Leader, Richard Tisei (R-Malden). Gov. Romney tried to please all sides except his wife, son and daughter-in-law who supported the Protection of Marriage Amendment.
