Opponents of Gay Marriage Must Make Bold Moves, Says President of Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage Must Stop ‘Foolish' Attempts at Compromise; Allowing the Clock to Run Out Is Homosexual Strategy The opponents of homosexual marriage must make bold moves and stop the “foolish” attempts at compromises, the President of Massachusetts Citizens for Marriage, Sarah M. Pawlick, said today. “We're playing their game by allowing the clock to run out. That is exactly what they want. We will never beat them at that game. They're the same people who violated the state Constitution by refusing to vote on our Protection of Marriage Amendment in 2002. Why can't our leaders see that? “And the New York Times complex, which is tightly controlled by Pinch Sulzberger, is the same one which lied about us and libeled us 16 times in 2002 both in its subsidiary, the Boston Globe, and in the New York Times newspaper.” Pawlick said that they can no longer ignore what this debate is really about. “We have allowed the homosexuals to keep secret what this debate is really about. We are seeing the minions of Pinch Sulzberger's New York Times Company pushing pictures of happy, contented women across the country who want to get married and are in tears because they are being denied. “But no one says that these women are merely engaging in mutual masturbation. That's their choice. If they want to lead dysfunctional lives alienated from 50% of the population, they should be allowed to do so. But when did masturbation rise to a Constitutional right? “None of us, including me, want to talk about what homosexuals really do, but we're going to have to start doing so now that it has become a national issue, thanks to the enormous power of the Times.” The 69-year-old, soft-spoken mother and grandmother and graduate of Wellesley College, has been branded as an incorrigible optimist, because she has said that she believes the people of the state will eventually do the right thing. And she still believes that. “We won the debate in 2002 but the clowns in the Legislature violated the Constitution and refused to vote on it. They suffered at the polls in 2002 and we have a Republican Governor as a result. Now they all stand and say the people should be allowed to vote. What liars. What hypocrisy. The Republican Leader in the Senate, Brian Lees, said last night he had to lead the battle to refuse to vote on the Amendment in 2002 because he didn't like it. If he didn't like it, he could have followed the Constitution and voted against the Amendment. He and most of the Legislature violated our civil rights in a big way. Even John Kerry and Michael Dukakis said so at the time. We must keep raising that issue. Brian Lees was not a hero then, anymore than he is now. He is a lawbreaker, who has no concern at all for the civil rights of others. The Supreme Judicial Court said in December 2002 that what he and the others did in 2002 violated the state Constitution, but the Boston Globe has never reported that fact.” Pawlick said that what the supporters of marriage should do now is to remove Margaret Marshall and the three judges who supported her ruling. The three judges who did not support Marshall , say that what she is doing is an illegal maneuver. They say she does not have the power to do so, and she is acting illegally. “Let's remove Marshall, not by impeachment which would be a nightmare of more lawyers, but by a Bill of Address, which would be a simple vote in the Legislature. No one, not even Brian Lees, could hide in that vote. How will you vote, Brian? Yes or no. We're tired of maybe.” |
