Democrats Committing Suicide over Marriage
Fate of Birmingham and O'Brien Is Forgotten; But Republicans Are Also Stumbling on Issue

The leaders of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts are committing suicide by endorsing homosexual marriage.

They seem to have forgotten the fate of Tom Birmingham who lost the primary election in 2002 in a bid to become governor, after he violated the law and refused to vote on the Protection of Marriage Amendment.

After that blunder, the weaker candidate, Shannon O'Brien, beat Birmingham in the primary, but she followed the advice of the Boston Globe/NYTimes complex and advocated gay marriage for a time, losing her Democratic base in the process. As a result we got a Republican Governor, Mitt Romney.

The AFL/CIO has now gotten back into the act. After all, they were the ones who visited every legislator, liberal and conservative, before the vote on July 17, 2002, and urged them to violate the state Constitution by refusing to vote on the Marriage Amendment. This violation of the law was accomplished even though 130,000 citizens had signed the petitions for the Amendment, $1.7 million had been spent by its sponsor, Mass. Citizens for Marriage and 60% are against gay marriage..

The Democratic Party is joining the owner of the Globe/Times complex in giving the citizens a choice of civil unions or gay marriage even though they are the same thing.

"This is only a scam to make us believe we have no other choice," says Sally Pawlick, President of Mass. Citizens for Marriage. "There's obviously millions of dollars coming from homosexual activists. It's become more obvious that it is their money which gave a jumpstart to Howard Dean's campaign. They've also given millions to politicians in Massachusetts as they jump like puppy-dogs for their money every year."

Even the Globe said the Democrats are "ignoring deep divisions in the party's ranks."

Pawlick says, "This is just what the Party did in 2002. The lure of dollars is obviously very important to the elites who are at the leadership positions."

The Globe revealed how the Party is attempting to confuse its members. It quoted Sen. Michael Morrissey (D-Quincy) as saying, "It's more important how people in the district feel. The question is, what's more democratic than putting a question on the ballot. Isn't that democratic? That's what the Democrats should be talking about." But Morrissey was only talking about allowing a vote on the present proposal which would forbid gay marriage but would allow civil unions, which is the same thing except for a different name. In addition, everyone agrees that in time, the civil unions would morph into gay marriage.

The Democratic proposal was accepted by a majority voice vote of the approximate 200 members of the state committee present on Jan. 29, according to the Globe. The action was endorsed by the state Party Chairman Philip Johnston.
