Sighting:
Globe Threatens Lives of U.S. Troops, As In Vietnam

The Boston Globe continues to threaten the lives of U.S. soldiers yesterday as happened during the Vietnam War with its continuing effort to make this a political battle against George Bush by falsely making the antiwar activists appear to be huge.

On the front page, the largest headline of day was, "Thousands rally against war on Iraq," complete with a picture of demonstrators in (guess where?) Cambridge.

However, the picture showed very few demonstrators, despite the fact that MassNews has shown in the past how Globe photographers have staged these people to get the effect they are seeking.

Somehow, the truth sneaked through yesterday in a story on the front page of City and Region under the headline, "Hundreds march, ride, rally for peace."

It said that hundreds were along Massachusetts Avenue from Dorchester to Lexington Green.

From Dorchester to Lexington Green!?! Hundreds?

No wonder the police reported that the protests caused only "minor traffic and pedestrian disruptions." But it was the top news at the Globe because that's what their owners on West 43rd St. in New York City want to see.

The sad part of all this is that the Globe is stopping intelligent discussion about this war just as happened in Vietnam. It is dividing us into hardened camps which only yell at each other. That is too bad and will cause unnecessary death to many troops if it continues.
