On February 4, 'GLAD', will
be deposing Brian Camenker in a day-long session,
at their offices in Boston.
Three years after exposing a state-sponsored
gay workshop with children, Brian Camenker
and Scott Whiteman are running up huge legal
expenses fending off a barrage of legal actions.
Glad (the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders)
is a publicly funded legal group and has been
pursuing lawsuits against the men for taping,
exposing, and publicizing a publicly funded
workshop that involved state Department of
Education employees and children as young
as 14.

The workshop - that has
come to be known as "Fistgate" - was state
sponsored and featured educators and "consultants'
coaching young teens to engage in risky homosexual
behavior. Two state employees were fired after much
media coverage and local and national outrage.
But only in Massachusetts could this happen to parents.
The nationally funded legal arm of the homosexual
movement in New England has 5 full time lawyers and
non-profit status. Gay activists have said that their
intention is to "punish" these parents and
set an example for others. They are attempting to
use an obscure section of the Massachusetts wiretapping
statute to prove that the privacy rights of the participants
were violated, and are suing for damages and possible
criminal prosecution.
The case has been dragging out since the summer of
2000, The cost of defending it has reached well over
$100,000. Famed attorney Chester Darling, who has
won 9-0 before the US Supreme Court in a similar case,
is heading up the defense team. But funds are very
low and his firm is having difficulty keeping up with
the huge amount of motions in the case being filed
by the gay activist law group.
"But if we give up, and lose this, then it will
send a clear message that this can succeed against
any parent," said Camenker. "And the intimidation
around the country will be stepped up several notches."
