Mass. Citizens for Marriage has called
for the election of Jim Rappaport as the Lieutenant
Governor of the state.
"Jim Rappaport was one of our earliest
contributors and supporters last fall," said
Sarah McVay Pawlick, President of MCM.
"However, Kerry Healey has been
on all sides of the issue like most politicians, trying
to please everyone. We have been told by reliable
sources that she is now telling individuals that she
supports the Protection of Marriage Amendment. But
when we questioned her last month, she said she supports
domestic partnerships and opposes civil unions. But
they are essentially the same thing and both are stepping-stones
to gay marriage."
Pawlick said that Rappaport is the only
candidate who hasn't afraid to tell the simple truth
that children do much better when they have a father
and a mother. And that the best way to ensure that
is to continue the definition of marriage that we
have used since the founding of Massachusetts, which
is one man and one woman.
All of the Democratic hopefuls, according
to Pawlick, have fallen to the money and power of
national, extreme liberal groups, such as the AFL-CIO,
the ACLU, homosexual activists such as the Human Rights
Campaign and others who are using some of their millions
of dollars to entice the politicians to vote for whatever
the donors want.
"They have even broken the law,
led by Sen. Birmingham, who received the enthusiastic
endorsement of the AFL-CIO as a reward," said
Pawlick.
But it has backfired, she claimed, because
the negative ratings of Birmingham have skyrocketed
and he has dropped to the bottom of the gubernatorial
candidates as a result.
"Even he has admitted that his
illegal actions have hurt him with the voters,"
said Pawlick.
She noted that Rep. Mitt Romney has
also fallen to the power and money of the powerful
despite the fact that his wife, son and daughter-in-law
all signed the Petition for the Protection of Marriage
Amendment last fall.
She says that any Republican who votes
for Romney must also vote for Rappaport because he
will be able to keep Romney from wandering too far
from traditional values.
"Kerry Healey is not a conservative
in any manner," stated Pawlick. "She would
do whatever she is told to do in the hope that Romney
will leave her to be Governor as Paul Cellucci did
with Jane Swift. That would not be good for the state."
